We spend 3 days in Swakopmund, we where going to stay a night at Spitzkoppe but the facilities are for the serious campers.
We stayed at the Swakopmund municipality bungalows, perfect for budget road trip accommodation.
We walked around town, plenty of buildings show the German influence. Below is the Hohenzollern Haus that was the original “teazers” in 1905.
We bought some local game meat for braai later the evening and yes more biltong.
Afternoon meal on the beach at Tiger Reef with our feet in the sand.
Nice tower in centre of town is the Woermann Haus where we took some nice views of the town and the ocean.
Swakopmund has plenty to offer for tourist and Fran loved all the little shops. We bought some more souvenirs.
We took a tour of the Kristall Gallery, we stood next to the worlds largest quartz crystal, 14 tons. The also had a sample of what the tonnels look like where the crystals is mined.
Stopped for sundowners at The Tug restaurant near the pier.
Swakopmund and Walvisbay is only 33km from each other and they remind me of Langebaan and Saldana back home in South Africa, beautiful little towns on the west coast.
Nou het jy my so lus gemaak vir biltong!!

Dit is `n jammerte dat die weer nie wou saam speel in Swakop toe ons Tiger Reef besoek het nie. Dit lyk na `n lekker plek as dit warm is.
